Catalonia<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">In the Sephardic tradition, the recitation of the selichot begins on the second day of the Hebrew month of Elul, while the Ashkenazim begin on the Friday night before Rosh Hashanah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">In the tradition of Catalonia there were two different customs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Minhag Barcelona:<\/strong> selichot are recited from the 25th of Elul* until Yom Kippur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Minhag Girona:<\/strong> selichot are recited only during Aseret yemei teshuva (the days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom
